For IT contractors

Tax help for IT contractors.

You move from contract to contract, often through your own company. We'll keep your company and your own tax in order.

Sound familiar?

Inside or outside IR35?

Every new contract raises the same question. What does it mean for your pay?

Limited company or umbrella?

Which set-up suits you, and when is it worth a change?

Contracts ending and starting

Gaps between contracts, notice periods and new clients to set up.

Every contract shapes your business.

Some IT contractors stay with one client for years. Others move between shorter contracts, take on project work, or build a small consultancy alongside their day rate. The right set-up can look quite different from one contractor to the next.

We'd like to understand the work you do, how your contracts tend to run and what you're planning next. Then we can help with the bigger decisions, from IR35 to how you pay yourself, with advice that fits your situation.

One useful answer

Does IR35 apply to my next contract?

It depends on the contract and how you'll really work, not on you as a person. Who controls your work, and whether you could send someone in your place, both count. We can review the contract and your working practices, so you know where you stand.

Quick questions

What's the difference between a limited company and an umbrella?

With an umbrella company, you become its employee and it pays you through payroll. With your own limited company, you run the company. We'll talk through which suits you.

How should I pay myself from my company?

If you're outside IR35, you can usually pay yourself a mix of salary and dividends. We'll set out a plan with you each year.

What happens if I'm inside IR35?

You're taxed much like an employee on that contract. We'll make sure your pay and tax are set up right for it.
