Inside or outside IR35?
Working closely with one client for a long time can raise the question. Does it apply to you?
January sneaks up
You're busy advising others, and then your own deadline is close.
Advice is your business. It's ours too.
Consultants come from all kinds of backgrounds and work in all kinds of ways. Some advise one client for a long stretch. Others run short projects for several, or bring in associates for bigger pieces of work.
Getting to know the way you work, and where you want your business to go, comes first for us. Then our advice can do for you what yours does for your clients. It can help you make good decisions with a clear view of the numbers.

One useful answer
Do I need to charge VAT?
Once your sales go over the VAT limit, you'll need to register and add VAT to your invoices. You can also choose to register before then. We'll keep an eye on it and do your VAT returns for you.
More answers for consultants…They are very personable style and professionalism stands out by miles. Would not hesitate to recommend them.
Quick questions
Should I be a sole trader or a limited company?
It depends on how much you earn and your plans. Our free report compares the two for you.
Does IR35 affect consultants?
It can. IR35 looks at each contract and how you really work, not at you as a person. We can review a contract for you.
Can I claim for working from home?
If you work from home, you can usually claim part of your home costs, like heating and electricity. We'll work out the fairest way to do it.
