Kit that costs a lot
Mics, recorders, mixers, cables and headphones. What can you claim?
January sneaks up
Then it's a rush to find every invoice and receipt from the year.
No two jobs sound the same.
Sound work covers a lot of ground. You might record on location for film and TV, mix in a studio or run live sound at venues. Sometimes it's all three in one week. Some engineers own a lot of kit, while others prefer to hire what each job needs.
Tell us how your work is split and where you'd like to focus. When we know that, our advice can follow the way you really work, from big kit purchases to the quieter months.

Quick questions

Not always. It depends on the role and the contract, and some productions put you on payroll. We'll look at each one with you.
