For producers

Tax help for producers.

You keep every production on budget and on time. We'll do the same for your tax.

Sound familiar?

One production after another

Fees for each project, some paid in stages, some through payroll.

Costs on the go

Your phone, laptop and travel to sets and meetings. What can you claim?

January sneaks up

You're wrapping one job and planning the next, and then the deadline is close.

Every production is different. So is every producer.

Some producers develop their own projects over years. Others are hired in for a single shoot, or run a small production company with work coming from several directions. Fees can arrive in stages, through payroll or through your own company.

Getting to know how your projects are set up, and where you see your work heading, is our starting point. Then we can help you plan for the gaps between jobs and the bigger projects ahead.

What we do for you

We take care of it all.

  • Your tax return, done and filed

Every production added up, so you know what you owe and when.

  • Your expenses, sorted

Your phone, laptop and travel, plus a share of home costs if you work from home.

  • Your books on Xero

Fees, invoices and payments in one place, set up and kept tidy.

One useful answer

Am I self-employed on every production?

Not always. It depends on your role and your contract, and some productions put you on their payroll. We'll look at each contract with you, so your tax is right either way.

Can I claim travel to sets and meetings?

You can usually claim travel for work, like trips to a set or a meeting. We'll check what counts for you.

Should I be a sole trader or a limited company?

It depends on how much you earn and your plans. Our free report compares the two for you.
